Peatland feasibility study
05/18/2020
We were awarded funding to have a deep peat survey carried out on the land. The report has been returned to us confirming over 30 hectares of deep peat which has been identified as worthy of restoration. We are now in discussion with Peatland Action about the possibility of receiving funding to carry out these works. This could throw a huge curve ball to the overall planting plan but a very worthy exploration, as Peatbog has a far higher value than trees when it comes to carbon capture. Over the past few years we have all been learning the significance of such a habitat and have come to appreciate it for its diversity and rarity.
